Every permanent full-time member of staff was given the option of becoming a worker-owner, and nearly everyone opted in–though folks are also totally welcome to stay on as employees without joining the co-op! Employees become worker-owners because they want to, not because they have to. Future full-time employees will have the same opportunity. Each worker-owner will have their own reasons for coming aboard, but if you asked them you’d probably hear a similar story: being able to directly influence one’s workplace–to learn where the company has been and help decide where it's going–is rare in most industries, but especially ours.
